A Brief History
A group of General Motors workers and some retired railroad employees, along with a number of others with an interest in railroading started the Oshawa Model Railroad Club in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada in 1969. The club reorganized in 1970 as the OSHAWA DISTRICT MODEL RAILROADERS and then again in 1975 when the name was changed to the ASSOCIATION OF PINE RIDGE RAILROADERS. Since then, the name has been shortened to PINE RIDGE RAILROADERS. In the spring of 2002, we decided to apply for Incorporation. On August 19, 2002, it was granted and we are now known as the PINE RIDGE RAILROADERS, INC.
On January 1st 2015, the group moved into our current location. The first months were packed with activity. Painting and wiring the new clubhouse, building a new HO home layout, adding on to the N home layout, repairing the portable layouts and having our first Open House at the new location.
Today the Pine Ridge Railroaders continues growing and adding new members and new layouts.
Below is a video of one of our original layouts.
